Living in the Hudson Valley has provided a never ending source of inspiration and material for writing fantasy. The area is rich in history (which is a main passion of mine), myth and folklore. Like Clive Cussler, I enjoy weaving a little bit of history into the fiction of my writing. I will read just about any genre of book, but I have to say fantasy always remains at the top of my list for book selection.

My favorite writers are Stephen King, Robert Jordan, Stephen Lawhead, Clive Cussler and David Eddings. There are many more but these probably rank at the top.

I love Art, although I can’t paint or draw to save my life. I love fantasy art, but the kind of painting that moves me the most is landscape art, especially those done in the manner of the Hudson River School artists, Fredric Church and Thomas Cole being among my favorites. I also love art because I can look at a painting and all kinds of story lines jump out at me, giving me a fresh breath of ideas to put on paper.

I have a wife, Valerie, and two children, Andy and Emilia, who provide me with never ending support and inspiration in all my writing endeavors.
